FAQs

What role do routine examinations play?

Teeth can be frustrating, as they don’t always give you warning signs that a problem is present until a certain degree of damage has occurred. The purpose of routine check-ups is to identify even the smallest signs that there is something affecting your teeth, gums or jaw.

What’s the difference between the dentist and the hygienist?

This is a question we are often asked, and we always love to be asked this, as it allows us to illustrate the importance of seeing the hygienist (a third of people in the UK still don’t attend).

Choosing between going to the dentist or hygienist should never be an either/or scenario, as each professional has differing roles which complement one another.

A hygienist can:

My husband and I have been coming to get treatments from Dr Patel for over 10 years now. Dr Patel is a superb dentist. He is not only an expert in his field but also caring about his patients. Lately I’ve been treated for a large filling and crown. Dr Patel has been looking after myself and my children’s dental issues for many years now. He is very patient with my children especially as one has SEN and complex dental needs. He explains his procedures to the children carefully and with sensitivity to their needs. The staff there are friendly and the practice Manager kept me informed of any information from specialists we had been referred to. Practise is clean and tidy. Parking in close by and free!
